ARMSTRONG
Named after Howard Armstrong
The final intermediate mainline station on the Stonnington Valley Railway is Armstrong. The station has a medium-sized platform, a sand siding, several smaller industries and a small goods yard.
Armstrong is the only station on the layout with a single mainline platform. The station also has a large curved trestle bridge beyond the down end of the yard, with multiple keen railway photographers snapping photos of trains arriving and departing the station.

CONTINUOUS CROSSOVER
With its main controls located on the fascia closest to the Armstrong panel, the Continuous crossover connects the parallel mainlines running between St. John - Littlebank and Armstrong - Lloydhurst. When the crossover is thrown, it allows trains to travel directly between Armstrong and Littlebank, creating a complete circle of mainline track for trains to run continuously around the layout, rather than point-to-point. The status of the crossover is repeated by lights in the adjacent signal box, with the signal box being dark when the crossover is set to the normal position, and is lit up inside when the crossover is thrown.
A duplicate crossover is located on the up end of Littlebank, and when used in conjuction with the Continuous crossover it creates an extra passing loop to cross trains travelling between Littlebank and Armstrong. These crossovers are generally not used in timetable sessions, but are frequently used in DCC sessions and other sessions incorporating free-running.
